Lip Filler Results for our Clients
Lip Augmentations are a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, more defined and plumper lips.
These days, an injectable dermal filler is the most commonly used method of lip augmentation.
There are many types of dermal fillers that can be injected in your lips and around your mouth.
The fillers we utilise at Aesthetics by Lisa are premium products that contain Hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. It helps increase the volume of your lips.
Collagen once the most common dermal filler, is used less often today.
The newer options are safer and the effects last longer.
How do Lip Filler Augmentations Work?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can improve the appearance of your lips by adding:
Shape
Structure
Volume
The results typically last around six to 12 months depending upon the volume and the viscosity of the filler used.
After that, more injections are needed to maintain the volume of your lips.
There are several hyaluronic acid fillers on the market. In Australia we do not openly name product names, but all products are TGA and FDA approved
All of these products are injected the same way and give you similar results. All of the fillers used at Aesthetics by Lisa some contain Lignocaine a local anaesthetic, so post treatment you need to be prepared for some
Why do we use Hylauranic Acid to Fill Lips?

Injectable lip augmentation techniques can be performed quickly at Quay Aesthetics and Skin by Lisa Sproule Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner with little to no downtime.
Before the injections, a topical or local numbing agent may be applied to ease discomfort. As a Nurse Practitioner, Lisa is able to prescribe a local anaesthetic agent twice the strength of over the counter numbing cream, further minimising any discomfort.
Holding ice to the lips before injections also helps to numb the area and potentially help with bruising and swelling.
After carefully marking the areas to be injected, very fine needles are used to inject the substance into your lips.
Following injection, the application of ice and arnica cream will be prescribed to ease discomfort and control swelling.
But no firm pressure should be put on the treatment area.
Massaging the lips in the following days can adjust in dispersing any lumps you mAy be feeling.
Applying Arnica cream to lips will assist in resolving any bruising you may experience
Lipstick or other lip products are best avoided immediately after the procedure.
You should be able to notice a difference immediately. After you have healed, your lips should feel natural.
In the initial 48 hours post treatment, swelling will increase - the lips will then relax to a more natural look.
It is at this point that people are disappointed in their result as they liked the appearance with swelling.
This is normal. If after a few weeks you still feel the same revisit your practitioner or further treatment.

To answer this question, you must first ask yourself why you want to modify your lips.
You should not undergo this procedure unless you truly want to modify your appearance.
If you are considering lip augmentation to make someone else happy or to try to fit an ideal image, you may want to think twice.
Also, it's important to have realistic expectations about the outcome. Enhanced lips may make your lips plumper and fuller, but you will still be you when you walk out of the Aesthetics Practitioners office.
Your practitioner can discuss with you the pros and cons of your lip augmentation options and help you decide which technique or product is best for you.
Before undergoing lip augmentation you should be in good health.
You may not be a candidate for lip augmentation if you have:
Diabetes
An active infection such as oral herpes
Lupus
Blood clotting conditions
If you have ever had a cold sore (oral herpes) any time in the past, you should tell us before undergoing the procedure, if so we will order you a course of preventative cold sore treatment before and after the treatment.
If you have any known allergies or are allergic to lignocaine, discuss with Lisa before undergoing the procedure.
Also, tell Your Medical Practitioner about any medications you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.
